True Christianity

True Christianity is being fully persuaded of what we believe. A true Christian is a person who is certain of what he/she believes.

Is it possible for a person to be fully persuaded that he or she is a Christian? Yes! "I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God SO THAT you may know that you have eternal life" -- 1 John 5:13.

There is no such thing as a perfect Christian, a.k.a  “True” Christian, the "committed" Christian. Not one of us is perfect, we are forgiven people who are in the life long perfecting process -- Romans 5:9-10. Welcome to true Christianity!

Because we are included in Christ and sealed with God’s Holy Spirit, we are redeemed people who are in the life long redemption process.  And because Jesus Christ lives forever, He is able to save us COMPLETELY because we come to God through Him (not through the church); He always lives to intercede for us not against us Christian – Romans 5:9-10; Ephesians 1:13,14; Hebrews 7:25.

Who are you going to listen to, God or man?

Either you are going to believe what is written in God’s Word or you’re going to listen to those who put guilt trips on you. God does not use Guilt, Fear, Urgency, nor vanity to work in His children. He sent His Spirit into our lives to guide us into the truth of His Word. His word is living and active it penetrates deep to expose and change our attitudes and desires – John 16:13; Hebrews 4:12.

Jesus Christ is not looking for “servants,” He looking for friends – John 15:15. He is not looking for submissive, compliant souls. He wants people who are full of the Holy Spirit and faith, people who are willing to move mountains.

When and how is any one included in the body of Christ?

The moment we heard the truth about Jesus Christ and believed, we were included into the body of Christ and sealed with God’s Holy Spirit –Ephesians 1:13,14; 2 Corinthians 1:21,22.
You were included in the body of Christ because you believed the truth of Jesus Christ, not because you belong to any certain group.

God is faithful, He will make each of us stand firm in Christ; we will be found blameless the day Jesus Christ returns to gather us unto Himself – 1 Corinthians 1:8,9.

What makes a Christian pleasing to the Lord?

We were saved by grace through faith and since the moment we were
justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We have gained access by faith into this grace we now stand in – Romans 5:1-2. So don’t let people harp at you about the “True” Christian does this or that in order to be pleasing to God.

We are pleasing to God because we have accepted His Once For All Atoning Sacrifice, the death of His Son Jesus Christ on the cross. We can’t even imagine how pleasing the Sacrifice of His Son is to God.  So is everyone who accepts the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ as the ONLY SACRIFICE for the forgiveness of his/her sins.  There is nothing else you have to do to please God.

People ask me, in an accusing tone of voice, “You call yourself a Christian!” And I answer, “No I don’t, my faith in the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ calls me a Christian!!!!” I do not conform to the image of people who have opinions of what a “True” Christian acts like.  I don’t fit in! I don’t try to fit in! I don’t want to fit into group think!  Why not?

Because, “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom” – 2 Corinthians 3:17.  In Christ, I’m free to be me, a redeemed person who is being transformed into the image of Jesus Christ, not into the image people think I should be.

Salvation is a gift to be received not a bribe:

F.Y.I: “I do not owe God anything!”
Salvation is a gift, a free gift that I am thankful for. I have learned that trying to pay God back for the gift He purchased with the blood of His Son Jesus Christ is offensive to God.

Trying to pay Him back is a slap in His face. Payback efforts speak a loud message: “God what you have done by the blood of Your Son does not line up with what I think a person needs to do to be right with you. So, in addition to what You have done by the Sacrifice of Your one and only Son Jesus Christ, I believe a person must also do this and do that or this or that to be accepted by you." A lot of people have a Jesus plus works way of thinking, and I stay away from them.

What makes a person a Christian?

Whenever anyone uses the term “True” attached to anything, I walk away and stay away.

A Christian is the one who puts his/her trust in the “finished” work of Jesus Christ on the cross, and has full confidence that He who began the good work in us will complete it.

The Sacrifice of Jesus Christ is the only Once For All Atoning Sacrifice for the sins of mankind. I’ve accepted His sacrifice as God’s sacrifice for the forgiveness of my sins, so I am a redeemed Christian! There is nothing else that needs to be done. Christian, we are redeemed Once For All!

What is a Christian?

A Christian rests in the life long redemption process going on in his/her life, knowing full well that
the Holy Spirit is competent, completely capable at changing our heart attitudes and mind sets.

A Christian is a thankful child who knows that God has LAVISHED His love and grace on our lives – 1 John 3:1; Ephesians 1:5-9.

A Christian is a grateful friend who Jesus Christ confides with – John 15:15

A Christian looks up to and trusts His brother, Jesus Christ – Hebrews 2:11

A  smart Christian does not listen to people who harp about pay backs because the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ declares “PAID IN FULL.” The blood of Jesus Christ is the all sufficient requirement for our eternal redemption; Christian, rest in the finished work of Jesus Christ!

Christian, you don’t owe anybody anything except to love them, if they want more, walk away and stay away. If they won’t accept you as being who you are, gifted by God, sealed with God’s seal of ownership, it’s their lose not yours.

But I must add this: If you are a person who has an overwhelming need to belong to a group, and you commit yourself to a group, then the group does have a right to put demands on you. That’s your choice.

Personally, I stay away from groups, I can’t stand having demands and expectations put on me. I don’t conform well to the expectations of others.  I’d rather to go up into the mountains and preach to the chipmunks and trees. They may be more generous to the preacher.

In closing I must declare: There is no such thing as a “True” Christian. The fact is: we are all redeemed, imperfect individuals who are being transformed by the inner work of the Holy Spirit. He knows what He is doing, so don’t tamper with any of His handiwork. He does take offense with that.

Vicki learned about not grieving the Holy Spirit first hand. She learned not to try to change His handiwork with her expectations. Years ago she was trying to get me to conform to her Christian ideals, but one day the Holy Spirit cried out in anguish in her heart, “Don’t hurt my handiwork; don’t hurt him.” And at another time, our Lord Jesus appeared to her in a vision and told her, “You are not big enough to twist my arm. I’m going to use that man’s life the way I intend to use his life.”

For years now, Vicki has simply put Her trust in the finishing work of the Holy Spirit and so she has been able to love me with a tender love and acceptance.  I am who God fully intends me to be! I am in God's perfecting process. I am in Christ and sealed with God’s Holy Spirit who is the guarantee of all that is to come in my life.  I am a Christian because of my acceptance of ALL that Jesus Christ has accomplished for me. I like me! This is true of you too Christian. In Christ, you are free to like you!

An Invitation: If you haven’t accepted God’s free gift of forgiveness yet, but you would like to experience the New Life He promises, simply pray this prayer:  “Jesus Christ, I choose to believe you are the Son of God and God’s only sacrifice for the forgiveness of my sins. I admit it, I’m a sinner, please forgive my sins, and I ask you to come into my life, I want to be born again. Save me Jesus.  I don't understand it, but please save me Jesus.  Please show me how real you are! Also baptize me with your Holy Spirit; I want everything you have for me. Thank you for accepting me.”

If you’re a skeptic you can pray a prayer like this: “God, if  this is true about Jesus Christ and a new life, please help me understand so that I can accept your gift of eternal life that you purchased for me by the sacrifice of Your Son.”
