Sin, what to do with it

Jesus Christ will make life easy for us, that is, if we listen to Him.

The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and He will be forever – Hebrews 13:8.

That means He is the same Jesus Christ today that He was back when He walked on the earth, so the things He said back then, He is still saying today.  And the Holy Spirit made sure that we have what Jesus Christ said back then in writing today.

Therefore, if we want to know what Jesus Christ would say to us today all we have to do is open the Bible and read what He said back when.  Too simple huh?

You do realize the you sin don’t you. I know I do. If we say we don’t sin we make God out to be a liar and His word has no place in our lives, not smart – 1 John 1:10.

Now, I don’t know about you, but I want God to forgive my sins, and cleanse me of all unrighteousness. I realize that sin works against me, I don’t want that. If you allow sin to linger in your life, it works against you, so confess it and ask God to forgive you and cleanse you of that unrighteousness. The wages of sin is death. We can be set free from sin -- Romans 6:22-23.

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked! A person reaps what he/she sows. Those who sow to please the sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction – Galatians 6:7,8.

Hopefully I made the point that we all sin, and that we all need God to forgive us.  Without God's forgiveness, sin will work against us. And keep in mind, sin seizes every opportunity you give it –Romans 7:8,11.

Personally, I don’t want to stop God from forgiving me when I go to Him and confess my sins. There are things a person can do that will stop God from forgiving your sins, not smart.

Do you want God to forgive your sins? Then you need to do this:

Jesus Christ tell us today, “If you forgive others when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. BUT if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father WILL NOT forgive your sins” – Matthew 6:14,15.

Over the years I've known people who refuse to get the point: forgive or you won’t be forgiven. Your sins will continue to work against you until you forgive others their sins against you.  That is plain and simple. Maybe too simple for some to understand, it’s not complicated enough for them.

I’ve had people say to me, “What do you do with the feelings?”

“Feelings? What does feelings have to do with forgiving?  Forgiving is a three second decision.  I want my sins forgiven, so I forgive,” has always been my answer.

“What am I supposed to do with my feelings, stuff them?” Not really.

My answer has always been, “Do what you must with your feelings, but forgive and forget and get on with your life, or your sins will work against you.”

God forgives those who are willing to forgive others their sins against you, that is clear, and it makes perfect sense. At least it should make sense. And it will make sense to anyone willing to accept the words of Jesus Christ.

God hates sin! How do we know that? He had His one and only Son crucified in order to provide the Once For All Atoning Sacrifice for the forgiveness sins.

Who is Jesus Christ  to you? To us at Dominion Chapel, Jesus Christ is KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. He is the one who died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins.

God says, "If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar and His word has no place in our lives" -- 1 John 1:8-10.

All the Prophets testify about Him that everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins through His name -- Acts 10:43.  Click here to find out more about forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

An invitation: If you haven’t accepted God’s free gift yet, but you would like to, simply pray this prayer.

"Jesus Christ, I believe you are the Son of God and that you died on the cross as the atoning sacrifice for my sins. You are the only way to God. I admit that I'm a sinner, please forgive my sins and come into my life, I want to be born again. Please show me how real you are. Also baptize me with your Holy Spirit. Thank you for accepting me."

If you're a skeptic and you find it hard to accept the truth of Jesus Christ, you can pray a prayer like this one: "God, if this is true please help me understand so that I can accept the gift of eternal life you purchased for me. Thank you.
