Prayers answered, how to

“Believe the promises of God!”

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of Him – 1 John 5:14,15.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever – Hebrews 13:8.

  • Because Jesus Christ is the same today as He was back when He originally spoke what is written on the pages of the Bible, He is still saying those same things today.  So if anyone wants to know what Jesus Christ would say to him/her all the person needs to do is open the Bible and read the words of Jesus Christ, they have not changed.

God’s will: In that day (the day you decide to believe) you will no longer ask me anything. I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in My name. Until now (because of ignorance of the truth or refusal to believe) you have not asked for anything in My name.  Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete – John 16:23,24.

God’s will: If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer – Matthew 21:22

God’s will: Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins – Mark 11:24,25.

God’s will: Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in My name, there am I with them – Matthew 18:19-20.

God’s will: In Christ and through faith in Him we may approach God with freedom and confidence – Ephesians 3:12.

God’s will: If any of you lacks wisdom, he/she should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him/her.

God’s will: When the person asks, he/she must Believe and Not Doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not think he/she will receive anything from the Lord; that person is double-minded, unstable in all he/she does – James 1:5-8.

God's will: Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with THANKSGIVING, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus -- Philippians 4:6-7.

  • I first learned the reality of that promise in 1988 when I was walking away from what people think is a secure life.  Some people even thought I was walking away from the will of God for my life.
  • It was a difficult decision, but the Holy Spirit pointed this promise out to me, and when I prayed according to the promise in Philippians 4:6,7 an inner peace overwhelmed me, then I knew that I was making the right decision.
  • But I had to let that peace guard my heart and mind in the face of people calling me crazy, telling me I was wrong, telling me everything would go wrong for me.
  • According to the peace in my heart I walked away from what people call financial security, into a new direction.
  • The peace of God is real, you will experience it when you pray according to the promise in Philippians 4:6,7.  And then you need to allow it to guard your heart and mind.  Believe me, you can't mistake the peace of God when it overwhelms you.
  • How did I pray? I said this to God, "Father, in Jesus' name I need to experience the peace you promise in Philippians 4:6,7. It can't be words printed on the pages of the Bible, I need to experience it if I am to move out in this direction." And that is what happened for me, the peace of God came, it overwhelmed my heart and mind. It is so wonderful.  That peace still guards my heart and mind making me know I'm in God's prefect will for my life.
  • God can open a door for you where there are no doors.

The fact is, according to God’s Written Word, if you ask God for wisdom and do not doubt, you will know His will, then you can pray according to His will and receive whatever you ask of Him. God promises to give us wisdom simply for the asking. But we have to receive it and not doubt.

God’s will: If you insist on doubting God’s Written Word, do this: The Spirit of God helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will – Romans 8:26,27.

An Invitation: If you haven’t accepted God’s free gift of forgiveness yet, but you would like to experience the New Life He promises, simply pray this prayer:  “Jesus Christ, I choose to believe you are the Son of God and God’s only sacrifice for the forgiveness of my sins. I admit it, I’m a sinner, please forgive my sins, and I ask you to come into my life, I want to be born again. Save me Jesus.  I don't understand it, but please save me Jesus.  Please show me how real you are! Also baptize me with your Holy Spirit; I want everything you have for me. Thank you for accepting me.”

If you’re a skeptic you can pray a prayer like this: “God, if  this is true about Jesus Christ and a new life, please help me understand so that I can accept your gift of eternal life that you purchased for me by the sacrifice of Your Son.”
