Humanism, Christianity

James J.D.Luce believes that “the fundamentalist experience can be a serious mental health hazard to perhaps millions of people” (p.65).

Atheism doctrine states that nothing supernatural exists. The supernatural is a delusion.  Man is the master of his fate, the captain of his soul. Self is the center of the universe (p.31).

“Atheists believe that it is society’s fault when a person does bad things, and that if you fix society you can create a utopia where all men and women do good all the time. B.F.Skinner promises that “there is no reason why progress toward a world in which people may be automatically good should be impeded.” Most atheists view this utopia as a one world community, where national borders have crumbled and everyone lives in harmony” (p.32).

In 1848 Karl Marx and Fredrick Engels published The Communist Manifesto. Their theory is based on economic determinism. Everything is determined by, including how everyone thinks, is controlled by a nation’s economic system. Everyone poisoned by the capitalist mentality must submit to (or be destroyed by) the working class, which will create a socialist dictatorship that will eventually evolve into paradise, Communism (p.44).

Marxism is based on the premise that “the nature of man is inherently good and perfectible through human endeavor, that is the product of his material surroundings, devoid of transcendence” (pp.29,30).

Men and women have signed the Humanist Manifesto: “While there is much that we do not know, humans are responsible for what we are or will become. No diety will save us; we must save ourselves” (p.25).

Humanists dogma says that men and women are basically good.  Carl Rogers, an influential psychologist writes: “For myself, though I am very well aware of the incredible amount of destructive, cruel, malevolent behavior in today’s world – from the threats of war to the senseless violence in the streets – I do not find that this evil is inherent in human nature” (p.24).

I’m sure you are all aware of Abraham Maslow and his hierarchy of human need. He says: “As far as I know we just don’t have any intrinsic instincts for evil” (p. 24).

According to my study, I've come to the conclusion that the "Social Gospel" is not the Christian gospel but the gospel of Socialism:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_Gospel

The doctrines of Christianity teaches that man is a sinner who can do nothing to save him/herself. Christian doctrine points out that every child is born with a sinful nature and must be born again in order to receive a new nature capable of knowing and loving God -- John 3:5-8.

As a Christian, born again Christian, I accept the Bible as my source of teaching about life, who I am, what I am: I am redeemed from the sinful nature that I was born with -- Romans 6:11-18.

Once I was a foreigner and an alien, not a citizen in the kingdom of God. But now I’m a stranger and an alien in the world, free to abstain from sinful desires that war against my soul -- Ephesians 2:19.

Now I am included in Christ, a citizen in His kingdom, counted among His people. Once I was not included among God’s people, but now I am included among the people of God; once I had not received mercy, but now I have received mercy -- 1 Peter 2:10 .

In order for me to experience this new life I chose to believe the truth about Jesus Christ. He says, “I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he/she is born again” – John 3:3.

You must understand: “God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” – John 3:16

Also, “Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son” – John 3:18

And then, “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him/her”—John 3:36.

In essence, humanism puts you in a hopeless condition without any help except from a helpless society that could care less if you live or die. But, Christianity gives you hope for a better future with lots of help available for you in this life.

“Jesus Christ, I believe you are the Son of God and the only way to God. I admit that I’m a sinner, please forgive my sins and come into my life; I want to be born again. Please show me how real you are, also baptize me with your Holy Spirit. Thank you for accepting me.”

If you’re a skeptic: “God, if this is true, please help me understand so that I can accept the gift of New Birth you purchased for me.”
