Is there a heaven? Yes!  The Bible says there is.

Do you accept the fact that God is the author of the Bible (Scripture)?  If you do not, then how will you be able to accept the following statements  of fact concerning heaven?

  • Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:20,21).
  • "All Scripture is God-breathed" (2 Timothy 3:16)

Heaven is a place, and God the Father is there:  Matthew 6:9

"Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name . . ."

Angles are in heaven:  Mark 13:32

"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."

Christ came down from heaven:  John 6:38

"For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of Him who sent me."

Christ ascended to heaven: 1 Peter 3:22

Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at God's right hand -- with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.

The Holy Spirit was sent from heaven:  1 Peter 1:12

It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven.

Heaven is where the believer's hope is found:  Colossians 1:5

Faith and love that spring from the hope that is stored up for you heaven and that you already heard about in the word of truth, the gospel that has come to you.

The believer has an inheritance in heaven:  1 Peter 1:4

In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade -- kept in heaven for you,

The believer has a great reward in heaven:  Matthew 5:12

Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven.

The believer's name is written in heaven:  Luke 10:20

"rejoice that your names are written in heaven"

New Jerusalem descends from heaven:  Revelaton 21:10-16

" . . . the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God"

The Lord Jesus Christ will  descend from heaven to gather His people onto Himself:  1 Thessalonians 4:16

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God

Christians have a heavenly calling:  Hebrews 3:1

Therefore, those of you who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess.

An invitation: If you haven’t accepted God’s free gift yet, but you would like to simply pray this prayer:

“Jesus Christ, I believe you are the Son of God and the only way to God.  I admit that I’m a sinner, please forgive my sins and come into my life; I want to be born again.  Please show me how real you are, also baptize me with your Holy Spirit.  Thank you for accepting me.”

If you’re a skeptic: “God, if this is true, please help me understand so that I can accept the gift of New Birth you purchased for me.
