God's Rescue Plan

hat does mankind need to be rescued from? And why?

Jesus Christ tells us that: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10).

Concerning the identity of the thief, 2 Corinthians 4:4 tells us that: “The god of this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Jesus Christ, who is the image of God.

Concerning God’s rescue plan, Colossians 1:13 tell us that God rescues those, who have faith in His Son, from the dominion of darkness and brings them into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom they have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

1 John 2:1, 2 is written to encourage those who believe in Jesus Christ, but it also explains God’s Rescue Plan for mankind: “My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense – Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.  He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for our but also for the sins of the whole world.”

John 3:16 tells us: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.

An Invitation: If you haven’t accepted God’s free gift of eternal life, but you would like to, simply pray this prayer:

“Jesus Christ, I believe you are the Son of God and the only way to God.  I admit that I’m a sinner, please forgive my sins and come into my life; I want to be born again.  Please show me how real you are. Also baptize me with your Holy Spirit. Thank you for accepting me.”

If you’re still a skeptic: “God, if this is true, please help me understand so that I can accept the gift of New Birth you purchased for me.”
