Gemstones: Objects of God's Grace

Consistently, daily,  I re-read certain statements of fact over and over, day after day, week after week wanting to absorb the revelation the Holy Spirit put into these words. As I reflect on what was written by the Spirit of God, the Lord promises to give me insight into what He is saying in those statements of fact – 2 Timothy 2:7.

Personally, the word of God, the Bible, is God speaking to Me, all Scripture is God breathed and useful for helping me know the heart of my Father, my Savior, my Redeemer, my Brother, my Friend, my Provider, my counselor, my Advocate, my All in All, all Sufficient One, God Almighty creator and sustainer of life – 2 Timothy 3:16.

Ephesians 2:1-10:
“As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.

All of us lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath.

BUT because of His great love for us, God, WHO IS RICH IN MERCY, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions – IT IS BY GRACE YOU HAVE BEEN SAVED.

And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, IN ORDER THAT in the coming ages He might show the incomparable riches of His grace, expressed in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, WHICH GOD PREPARED IN ADVANCE FOR US TO DO.”

May I ask?

Do you see yourself sitting in the heavenly realms with Christ?

Do you see yourself as a shining gemstone in God's possession, an object of God’s grace?

Do you realize God has placed His seal of ownership on you? You are not your own, you are one of His prized possessions. -- 2 Corinthians 1:22; Ephesians 1:13,14.

Do you spend time with the Word of God so the Holy Spirit can reveal to you the good works God has prepared for you to do?

Or do you listen to people when they tell you what a Christian should be doing for God? Serving people is not serving God.

Christian, we are objects of God’s grace, and that is how God expects us to see one another.
When you look at me you see a glittering, gem stone, precious in the eyes of God forever, and the same is true of you if you’re born again. When I look at a fellow Christian, I see an object of God's grace. It's all by grace, through faith, nothing else matters!

We are precious in God’s sight because of what Jesus Christ has done, and our acceptance of what He has done: He is the Atoning Sacrifice for our sins, and not only for our sins but also for the sins of the whole world – 1 John 2:2.

Jesus Christ is the Righteous One! And we are righteous in God’s sight because we are included in Christ.

In other words, if you are included in Christ, you are as righteous as Jesus Christ because you are included in His righteousness – 1 Corinthians 1:30; Ephesians 1:13,14.

Nothing else you do will ever make you righteous in God’s sight, so quit trying to be righteous, you are righteous because of your acceptance of the Atoning Sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Your acceptance of the Atoning Sacrifice of Jesus Christ alone makes you righteous in God’s sight.

The only thing that makes us precious in the sight of God is our individual acceptance of the Once for All Atoning Sacrifice of Jesus Christ. That sacrifice made by Jesus Christ is completely satisfying to God and when anyone accepts the Atoning Sacrifice of Jesus Christ he/she is forever precious in God’s sight.

If you are born again, you are precious in the sight of God, forever.
You are an object of His grace, forever. You are a precious gem to God, a living stone, members of a royal priesthood, a chosen people, a holy nation belonging to God. Now you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light. Once you were not a people, BUT NOW you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy –   1 Peter 2:9-10.

Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, WHICH WAR AGAINST YOUR SOUL. Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day He visits us – 1 Peter 2:11,12.

We are objects of God’s grace, but those who will not accept the Atoning Sacrifice of Jesus Christ are objects of wrath.

Christian, we are objects of God’s grace, forever. But those who refuse to accept the Atoning Sacrifice of Jesus Christ are dead in their transgressions and sins, just like we were. They are following the ways of this world and the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in them because they are disobedient to God. They are gratifying the cravings of their sinful nature and are following its desires and thoughts. They are objects of wrath.

So you see, we gave up nothing when we accepted Jesus Christ, instead, we gained everything: God’s Grace! Eternal Life in Christ!
God has lavished his love and grace upon us. How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! 1 John 3:1; Ephesians 1:4-8. We are precious gemstones, objects of God's grace, forever.

So the next time you are insulted for being a Christian, rejoice because you have been identified as an Object of God’s Grace! The ones who insult you are objects of wrath!

God wants to lavish His grace and love upon your life, my friend:

An Invitation: If you haven’t accepted God’s free gift of forgiveness yet, but you would like to experience the New Life He promises, simply pray this prayer: “Jesus Christ, I choose to believe you are the Son of God and God’s only sacrifice for the forgiveness of my sins. I admit it, I’m a sinner, please forgive my sins, and I ask you to come into my life, I want to be born again. Save me Jesus. I don't understand it, but please save me Jesus. Please show me how real you are! Also baptize me with your Holy Spirit; I want everything you have for me. Thank you for accepting me.”

If you’re a skeptic you can pray a prayer like this: “God, if this is true about Jesus Christ and a new life, please help me understand so that I can accept your gift of eternal life that you purchased for me by the sacrifice of Your Son.”
